Fair

The world is funny. People demand what is fair. It is only right, they say. Religions are shaped with this idea ingrained. We work, god gives us our reward in proportion to how much we have worked. That is fair!

Christians do not want fair. Being saved by grace just does not seem fair.

Isn't that the point?

We should not want God to be fair, because if we are honest with the depth of our sin (failure, inadequacy, imperfection, etc.) and in light of God's infinitely perfect and holy standard, we would never stand a chance to make it into heaven on our own.

adapted loosely from "How Wide the Divide" - Craig Blomberg and Stephen E. Robinson

I am so glad I am done this book, took forever.
